Volkswagen to Install a Plant Near Huntsville?

There has been speculation recently that vehicle manufacturer Volkswagen will be installing a plant near Huntsville, Alabama. Although plans are not finalized, Huntsville annexed a 2,000 acre plot that may serve as the site of the plant.Left Lane News reported, "VW announced late last month that it has narrowed down its possible U.S. plant locations to Michigan, Tennessee and Alabama, but it looks as though one state might have the upper hand. If VW's decision comes down to incentives, Alabama will likely win the U.S. assembly plant...Alabama has the advantage when it comes to offering companies incentives."
The move would bring in even more automobile-industry jobs, as Toyota currently employs around 1,000 people at their Huntsville plant.
