Huntsville Seeing Economic Rise

"Locally, our economy is fantastic," says John Allen, president of the Huntsville/Madison County Homebuilders Association. "The housing market nationally has gotten a lot of attention, but certainly our focus has been what is going on in our economy and our market."The average price of a home in Huntsville shot up to $192,000 from $179,000 in 2006. This has to do with a new crop of families coming in for Huntsville's expanding job market.
"Currently, right now there are over 1,200 jobs in Research Park, engineering and aero-space jobs, which need to be filled," said Allen.
