GE Hitachi Makes Big Plans for Wilmington Area

Over the next 12 years, GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy is going to be expanding their facilities nearby Wilmington, North Carolina. The company's expansion will total a $704 million investment in the local economy, bringing 900 high-paying (average $85,000) jobs to the area.The company can expect $25.7 million in compensation from the state, and an additional $10 million is possible from local government. They will be adding new facilities to their 1,300-acre Castle Hayne campus, tailored exclusively to laser and nuclear technologies.
